Not only did I have a GREAT time at yesterday's Posture Clinic hosted by Lululemon Cumberland, but I went home with a project ! With a copy of Strengths Finder 2.0 in hand, I went home to get to it. Each book comes with a code that gives you access to an online test in which you answer questions that describe you and when you complete it, you are given your five most prevalent strengths. With them you are given examples and actions to put your talents to good use.
I can't tell you the clarity this book has given me. Not only from my results and their descriptions but the concept alone. Stop dwelling on your weaknesses or your shortcomings. Stop spreading yourself thin to be better at everything. Instead, focus on your strengths. Put them to good use, solidify them and let them serve you.
Simply put, it's a more positive approach to life. Acknowledging what you are good at. Identify your talents and use them ! I also love the word 'talents'. I have always found this word SO intimidating. Someone asks me 'What are your talents?' and I turn to stone. I have been stuck in the mind space of a Grade School Talent Show or that of a Beauty Pageant, thinking talent meant I could Juggle, Yodel, or throw fire. Really, I have honestly felt that I have NO talents and it's a bad feeling.
It has dawned on me now. I have A LOT of talents. Going through this test has helped me to identify them a little more clearly and really understand why it is I do what I do. Why I love Yoga, why I love teaching, why I love connecting and growing with my students, my teachers and my practice. It has also helped me to really understand what makes me a Lululemon Ambassador and how I can continue to excel in serving my community. I am ecstatic about this role.
If you are ready to discover your talents and want some direction in using them effectively, pick up a copy of Strengths Finder 2.0 by Tom Rath.
Thanks Lululemon Cumberland !! I always find a little more of myself when I am with you!
